Seniority rules?

We’re seniors.

Sooooooooooo…….now what?

Guys, it’s official.

We can’t deny it. This is our 4th (and last) year in college. (pause while I violently gag at the thought of the real world!)

It’s absolutely crazy to think that in a mere 100 days, I’ll be a college graduate. A 22 year old with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. What is that? I mean, just yesterday I was a freshman who was unsure of her major, who was overwhelmed with being away from home while struggling with weight gain and making friends. Safe to say, I wasn’t exactly “killin’ it.”

BUT….

The good news is three years later things are certainly looking up. Freshman year ended, sophomore was waaaaay better, junior year I travelled abroad and, now, senior year leaves us with one last chance to do it up.

PREACH Lena ^^

Everyone says, “You’ll never forget your college years,” “College is the best time of your life,” “Live it up while you can, blah, blah, blah. I get it; what you’re basically telling me is after college is all goes downhill? Yeah, thanks for the positivity people.

Regina, you let it out girl; while you’re crying about not being Prom Queen, we’ll be crying about applying to jobs, paying rent and being able to afford something other than Ramen noodles. #sickbro

Now, it would be easy to give in and stress about the future. But, we have to rest of our lives to stress about things. With that said, we should do whatever we can to focus on the positive.

100 days seems like a lot, but honestly it’s gonna FLY by. So, get your head in the game because we (aka me and like hopefully you readers) are gonna to make this final semester the best yet!

So listen up, cause I have some advice to ensure that in a year you can look back and say, “Damn, that last semester of college man. It was epic.”

Here we go…

giphy-7.gif

  1. Become a YES man/woman– Say “yes” more! This was actually one of my New Year’s resolution (after one of my best friends told me I absolutely had to start saying yes more, or life was going to keep passing me by) At the time, I didn’t really see how much of a major change saying one word was going to have on my life. When you say yes more, you open yourself to fun and new opportunities. I’ve only been doing this for the last month, but I already have so many amazing memories in 2016.

2. Take advantage of YOUR college town– You’re not going to live there forever (most likely)! So get out there and see/do the things you’ve been saying you would do since freshman year. Now, it’s the final countdown so no excuses! Go to that restaurant across town, visit the local museums, take a walk around your neighborhood, stare at a statue, whatever it is…just try it! You’ll regret it later in life if you don’t.

Hopefully, your tour of the town won’t end like this^^

3. Find a balance between nights you can’t remember and nights you won’t forget-I understand that this a hard balance to find, but if you can do it.. I promise you won’t regret it. My point here is that drunken nights that last until 6 am are awesome, but so are Girls Nights In with your BFFS, too much wine, a home-cooked meal, a good movie and a few games of Kings and Never have I ever. Just mix it up! Trade in the bottle of Grey Goose for a spatula and a wine glass and dancing on tables to a fun workout class with the gals.

I stand by these 3 tips and I believe that if we follow them, it will most certainly be a final second semester that we will NOT forget.

It’s easy to let the ‘end of college’ blues get to you, but DON’T. There’s just no time to be sad or depressed when we have our entire lives to look forward to. Sure, there’s going to be times when you’re so stressed about finding a job that you crawl into a ball and cry, but the other 95 percent of the time keep saying YES, getting out there and trying NEW things.

Enjoy second semester, Seniors !!!

Love this post! Super easy and fun to read, and it reminds me a lot of the elite daily articles I read to procrastinate from doing work (which makes sense since you write for them!) But you said it all, college has been a bit of a whirlwind, and I definitely can say every year has been different. As much as I am looking forward to whats ahead post-grad, I really am going to miss GW! So as you say, we gotta ‘do it up’ Lena Dunham style!

Yes! This is the type of motivation I need to stop dwelling on being a second semester senior and to start having more fun and really enjoy the little time that I have left. From now on, I definitely need to start being more of a “yes” woman. I can’t believe we only have 100 days left! Pretty scary.

Ugh I can’t believe it’s really now less than 100 days away. February is basically over and then March is cut in half with spring break and then April is here and before we know it, it’s the first week of May. Crazy to think how far we have come since freshmen year! Remember sitting next to each during lecture in history class? WHERE DID THE LAST 4 YEARS GO???????? Also, I’m convinced our twenties are going to be way better than college, so I’m excited.
